FloridaCRCCitizensGuide 5

The 2017-2018 Constitution Revision Commission is the third of its kind in state history. The Governor, Florida Senate President, Florida Speaker of the House and Florida Supreme Court Chief Justice named 36 people to the 2017-2018 Constitution Revision Commission. The Attorney General is the 37th member.

The commission will begin its work upon the conclusion of the 2017 session. The commission will hold public hearings throughout the state where citizens can attend, share ideas and feedback on potential proposals for the ballot. Four public hearings are currently scheduled: March 29 in Orange County, April 6 in Miami-Dade County, April 7 in Palm Beach County, and April 12 in Escambia County. For more information, click here to view the official press release. After gathering public input, the commission will recommend proposals for the 2018 ballot. The proposals will be placed on the ballot and voters will ultimately decide what passes. Proposals require 60 percent of the vote in order to pass.
